Grantmaking

The Physicians Foundation has spent the past year going through a strategic planning process and conducting research on the current and emerging challenges facing physicians and their practices. Informed by its strategic planning process and research, the Foundation will develop and release one or more Requests for Proposals in 2009.

In 2009, the Foundation will focus on a variety of issues in pursuit of the Foundation€™s mission, which is to promote improvements in the physicians€™ practice environment to support high quality patient care. The Foundation will address these issues through grantmaking, research, and educational activities. In the coming months, the Foundation will issue one or more RFPs on a specific issue or research question. The RFPs will be posted to the website as soon as they are available.

As the Foundation learns more through its ongoing research and survey work, findings and lessons learned will be shared through our website and in partnership with our grantees and other organizations that advocate on behalf of practicing physicians. We invite you to visit the website often.

Announcement: Opportunity for State and County Medical Society Foundations

Are physicians in your community participating in PQRI? Would you like to assist them in participating? State and county medical society foundations are eligible to apply to the Physicians Foundation's 2009 Technology for Quality Grant Program€”applications are being accepted now. The Technology for Quality grant program is designed to support physicians who wish to participate in the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI). The Physicians Foundation will grant up to 75 coupons redeemable for DocSite licenses to state and county medical society foundations.
